About Kortney Zesiger
My Experience
I have dedicated my 20-year career to public education. I hold a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Northern Arizona University and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University; additionally holding a K-12 Principal Certification. In May of 2025, I will have earned a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, also from NAU. I started my career as a K-8 health and physical education teacher. I have also taught 6th grade all subjects and 8th-grade English. I spent five years working in educational policy and teacher certification at the Arizona Department of Education. Currently, I love my job as a key faculty member at Northern Arizona University training and supervising future teachers.

Voice and Choice
"I believe in ensuring every child has access to high-quality public education. While I understand the intention behind the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) vouchers, I strongly oppose their current impact on our public school system. Currently vouchers divert essential resources away from public schools, which are the backbone of our community. My focus is on strengthening and investing in FUSD public schools to provide equitable educational opportunities for all students.
